Aye. That has gone... considerably worse than I could have anticipated. Than any of us could, I imagine.

Yeah. Generally you try to avoid more murders when investigating a murder.

...and it wasn't even someone any of us were suspecting.

[ He sighs, tiredly. ]

We are not a team of trained detectives. While I may owe them an apology– [ Alphinaud was... pretty suspicious they had a hand in this. ] –our Leaders were still wrong in expecting us to efficiently deduce who our killer was.

Yeah. We don't have any of the right tools for this crap either. Still, kind of a blow to your confidence to not even think about the culprit.

Owe who an apology? ...The Leaders?

Indeed. I have been quick to make claim they were likely suspects.

You too? I don't blame you, they came out the gate sounding real suspicious. They just so happen to all be locked away in the castle none of us can access, and just so happen to have a mysterious source telling us it was one of us who did it?

...they were right, but they could've been less weird about it.

It was all too easy to put the blame on them.

[ He shakes his head. ]

May that be the last of our problems. Gods know this day will leave many shaken for days to come.

I doubt it. We've still got that whole nova, saving-the-Realm thing to deal with. Who even knows how urgent that is and how long we can spend mourning with that looming over our heads.

... Yes, you have the right of it. 'Tis no small matter if so many of us were drawn here at once—doubtless so we will have to focus out efforts on that, mayhap more than ever. As they say, there is no rest for the righteous.
