[ day four and hua cheng is getting used to the mistaken identity already. his daemon follows at his side, tails flicking as the fox assesses bucky with its right eye closed. ]
Could be worse, but could be better. Needs a bit more silver than gold, in my opinion, but it's not bad.
Worldhopping. I believe ours was more unique than the others, from what I've gathered? Everyone had stationary locations that had new additions - we changed worlds completely every week.
[ rng said gift shop so hua cheng is just here surveying it now that things are presumably no longer a crime scene. not as if they need to try and solve anything, considering they found the culprit.
he doesn't glance bucky's way, but the ever present daemon does with a twitch of an ear and a glance. ]
Well, that was certainly as eventful as we were all suspecting it'd be.
I said eventful, not batshit desperate. [ deadpan ] Though I'm not sure if it was any better or worse than our first week banking on someone tricking the cannibal into admitting he made someone into jerky for the laughs in the last half hour or so.
Oh, not at all. And no one in the Land of the Dead paid him any kindness, either, to the point that they routinely kicked his ass to take his letters for extra messages to the living.
Hmm. Good, I guess. As good an ending as you can get, anyway, after you've been made into jerky.
...you didn't answer me during the trial earlier. You "allowed" it? That mean you were one of the...[ waves hand vaguely ] your round's equivalent of the leaders or the hotel employees or whatever?
They didn't reconcile over it, or anything, but he did seem to at least cope well enough by the ennd.
[ anyways, ]
I was. My statue's in the courtyard with the other Watchers - just more winged. There's a handful of us that are both repeat offenders and previous, ah, NPCs as the more "modern" people have said.
Didn't know what to make of the statues at first--I recognized the ones from where I was, but there were a bunch more people I knew up there who weren't watchers. I guess now I know.
Infuriating, really. [ it's not, like, chipper? but the upbeat loathing of someone that wants to find the person behind this and stab them in the eye. ]
I don't know the full count - four, five of us, maybe? But there is an interesting number of us that have been on either side of the mess.
[ hua cheng is wondering what the fuck the bumper cars are, actually. his arms are crossed, tanhua leaning against his leg as they survey the scene before them.
now that bucky is no longer bunking today, his head tilts slightly towards him, but doesn't turn. ]
Feel like your efforts were successful? [ he was visiting orion so he didn't see the end result. ]
We'll find out. I saw that they were trying a few things on their side, before I left to speak with Orion, but luckily information seemed to be coming a little more freely than the last one.
[ they'll see how it goes! he does glance over at him after a beat. ]
Orion's not much of a party person, beneath the surface that all of the staff have built up. So it was quiet. Much needed after my explosive arrival, though.
[ hm, too bad. hc, clueless as to why; me, laughing about qr bait ]
Well, ideally repairs are in your future, since we're in the last week.
Kim Dokja was given no choice but to use a... light beam of some kind from a device he was given during the execution. It went out of his control and I was effectively obliterated.
It's fine, though. That was the fourth time that's happened to me.
[ his "exploding into x (2 nickels)" is not 100% accurate but still apt ]
Oh. That. I thought you meant you showing up in the dream suite with the staff and everybody else. ...you didn't explode anything there, did you?
[ bucky does not even react to that being the 4th time, because that sure does sound like comics bullshit, alright. sometimes you just keep dying in the same way. ]
At this point, just having a functional arm period would be an upgrade.
No, luckily not. Things have been fairly fine today and yesterday, save for, you know, the dying part. Used to that though.
[ :handshake: in weird fucking bullshit deaths and dying and antics. anything inspired by wuxia also has this in common with comics. ]
Afraid I can't do much for you without my powers. If we get them here at the end of everything, when we reunite with the living, Harrow and I together could likely do something to get you a flesh and bone one back if nothing else.
[ nods at the blase death attitude. i hate them. ]
Nah. I'm used to the metal now, and it's actually a big part of my fighting technique now. Plus, [ with a sly grin ] I can hide all sorts of weaponry in there.
Well it's not like I just have a store of arms and I choose every morning which one I'm going to use that day. I just use whatever I've got, with whatever perks it comes with, until I run it into the ground.
w0, monday
Bucky approaches. ]
I bet you're a fan of the interior decorating in here, huh?

[ glances down at the fox and raises an eyebrow ]
Since when did you have a pet?
no subject
Ah, you must be from the same round as Strife. [ at least he knows another him existed... ] Since always.

What round were you from, then? The space station with Lup?

Arguably one of the worst yet most worthless individuals I've ever known.

I'm sure no one felt bad voting for that guy.

Creative.
...what about the poor guy who got...jerkied?
no subject
[ hua cheng like "good, perish." ]
Whole and hardy in the Land of the Dead, and restored when we revived the dead. Bit of a pathetic sap, but, still. Didn't deserve... jerkying.

[ he shrugs. he might look a lil bruised, but he's in one piece. He's not wearing the arm right now, though. ]
Kind of hard to tell. The fight wasn't the point. I wasn't keeping that close an eye on the real matter at hand.
no subject
[ they'll see how it goes! he does glance over at him after a beat. ]
Where's your arm gone?

[ as for the arm, he pauses a moment, then shrugs with his one shoulder. ]
In the condition it's in, it's not worth wearing unless I need to.

Oh, that's fair enough. A metal arm is excellent defense and offense, already, but the surprise attack certainly lends... a kind of flair.
no subject
at least as far as this game goes, he can't be too mad at the guy. Bucky would've killed unpossessed too, if he'd survived long enough to do so. ]
And I've had a lot of different arm models--lots of different kinds of flair.

I can respect that. [ he taps on one of his silver bracers. silver vibes. ] Flair for different occasions, and different needs.
