JAMES (BUCKY) BARNES
Hey, this is James. Text me if you need me. Or leave me a message if you want, but I'm probably not going to listen to it because, seriously, this is 2017 and no one uses voicemail any more.

[ And true to his word, in just about one hour exactly, James is standing nonchalantly at the subway entrance. Or, as nonchalantly as one can stand at the entrance to an abandoned tunnel while holding two full cans of paint. ]
no subject
What colors did you bring?!
[ Very important!! Also hi, long time no see ]
no subject
I've got one red, one yellow. That good enough for you? [ He lifts up each can in demonstration as he describes the colors. ]
no subject
[ the cops
But anyways! She picks up her striker and lets James do the heavy lifting of both cans of paint, heading down the steps of the subway entrance two at a time until they're inside. It's pretty dark inside, no lights once they're far enough from the entrance that the sunlight no longer reaches down there, but into the darkness is where she wants to go. ]
You ever been down here? A bunch of guys and I spent the month down here before everything got "fixed," but there were a bunch of closed up rooms and stuff down here. Let's see if we can blow our way through.
no subject
Now we're talking! I've spent the past week trying to get into every station I could find! Maybe it is time to use some firepower.

[ Mafuyu is trying to get to Candyland. She doesn't say this out loud, because she needs things to go boom first before she's pummeled with questions and weird looks. ]
no subject
[ He does not expand any further. Instead, he just lifts the cans of paint up. ]
Alright, Miss Pyrotechnic, how are we doing this?
no subject
[ A flawless plan where nothing can go wrong. ]
no subject
Alright, makes sense. Let's do this thing then.
[ He pulls out a guitar pick and uses it to pry off the lid of the red paint. He sets it down as close to the shut-off entrance as he can, practically having it touch the wall. ]
Here it is, in all its crimson glory. Ready when you are.
[ He waggles the lid a little bit in demonstration, while keeping it close enough to the can that he can slam the lid on quickly. ]
no subject
—shit! Hot! CATCH!!
[ flings the blazing paper at James' face, maybe he can lift the bucket and catch it like that ]
no subject
[ Sure enough, he jerks the bucket upwards to catch the paper, but given that it's a full bucket of paint, it splashes and covers him in bright red.
Before he can even think, though, he slams the lid down on it and scrambles away from it. If this thing's going to explode, he doesn't want to get caught in the blast radius. ]
no subject
disappointing...
but also
THAT WAS SO COOL. ]
